SRJC Foundation Scholarships for 2013-14
Business & Community Scholarship Applications
The Santa Rosa Junior College Foundation is a nonprofit auxiliary organization under the direction of a Board of Directors formed to receive and administer gifts and funds from private sources. The Foundation promotes, fosters, and implements the programs of the College and assists with the maintenance of the Sonoma County Junior College District as one of the best two-year colleges in the nation.
The Foundation was organized in 1969 under the guidance of Dr. Randolph Newman and members of the Santa Rosa Junior College Alumni Association, who were vitally interested in assisting the College and its students in areas where educational needs may best be met through the donation of private gifts.
Tax exempt status granted by the state and federal governments insures that all contributions donated to the Foundation qualify for tax deductions to the full extent allowed by tax regulations.
The Foundation assists Sonoma County Junior College District by receiving property by gift, bequest, will or trust. Earnings from prudent investing contribute to the funding scholarships and programs at Santa Rosa Junior College for the progress and welfare of its students, faculty, staff, and community.
The SRJC Foundation receives donations from individuals, community groups, and organizations to provide over 700 scholarships for full-time students who will continue their education at SRJC or will transfer from SRJC to a four-year institution. These scholarships are competitive and are awarded to students based on scholastic achievement, financial need, academic field of study, community service, campus activities, and essay responses.
You may apply for these SRJC Foundation scholarships by completing a Continuing or Transferring Scholarship application. By completing one application, you will be applying for many different scholarships. (Applications are available each January with a March 1 deadline.) A complete list of scholarships available through this program is published in the Santa Rosa Junior College Catalog.
Over 400 scholarships are available for students who will continue their studies at SRJC during the upcoming year. You may apply for these continuing scholarships if, at the time of application, you have completed at least 12 units at SRJC and have an overall SRJC GPA=2.50 or higher.
This program is designed for Santa Rosa Junior College students who have completed 60 transferable units (at least 24 units at SRJC) and will transfer to a four-year institution during the upcoming academic year. Applicants must, at the time of application, have a minimum overall GPA=3.0 to apply. By completing one application, you may be considered for many of the over 250 different scholarships.
The application cycle is now open. SRJC Foundation applications for 2013-14 are available from January 3 – March 1, 2013. Applications are available in the SRJC Scholarship Office on the Santa Rosa Campus, in the Financial Aid Office, Jacobs Hall, Room 116, on the Petaluma Campus, and online.
Santa Rosa Junior College is officially accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges
