Responsible Borrowers Workshop Schedule for Summer 2013 & Fall 2013 Learning Outcome: As a result of attending a "Workshop for Responsible Borrowing", students will gain understanding of the requirements, rights and responsibilities, and repayment obligations associated with acquiring a federal student loan. Delays in loan processing, and denials of loan requests, occur when inaccurate or incomplete information is included on the Worksheet for Student Borrowers. We STRONGLY recommend attending a Workshop for Responsible Borrowers. It will help you plan your financial future and will expedite the processing of your loan request. Understand that SRJC has the responsibility to: 1) evaluate all loan requests case-by-case and 2) reduce or deny loan requests for students that, in our professional judgment, are at serious risk for loan default. High levels of indebtedness (including loans from other colleges), coupled with a small amount of progress in an academic program, is a common indicator of high risk for default.
