Exit Loan Counseling Requirement
You must complete the Direct Loan Exit Counseling online before your final loan disbursement can be sent to the school and issued to you.
You will need to access the Internet. If you do not have access to the Internet, you may use the computer in the SRJC Financial Aid Office lobby to complete your Exit Counseling.
Go to the Direct Loan Web site at http://studentloans.gov, under Tools and Resources, select "Exit Counseling", this will take you to the NSLDS student web site. Select Exit Counseling, read the text, click on the "Start" button to navigate to the next page. Read each page, use the Next button to go to the next page, enter your personal information and your U.S. Department of Education PIN as it is requested. The PIN is the four digit number that you used to sign your FAFSA. If you have forgotten your PIN, you can request a duplicate PIN at www.pin.ed.gov. Use the drop down box to select "California" for the state, then click display, choose "Santa Rosa Junior College – Santa Rosa 001287", push the "Add" button, it will display that you are leaving Santa Rosa Junior College, choose Next, read the text and use the Next button to get to the next screen.
Answer the questions, and use the Next button to see the answers, review them, and use Next to continue. You will see a display of all Federal Student Loans that you have borrowed to date, use the Next button to answer more questions. You can use this page to determine your approximate loan payment. Answer questions, review answers, and use the Next button until you need to enter your budget. Enter estimates for a budget for your life after you leave school, use the "Submit" button to confirm your budget and click the Next button. Enter your contact information, next of kin, and two personal references, click the Submit button. Santa Rosa Junior College will be notified electronically that you have completed your Exit Counseling.
