About New Student Programs

Our services include initial orientations, ongoing counseling, free workshops and seminars, as well as college and community referrals and resource information.

Initial Orientation

We highly recommend this in-depth orientation to you, the first-time college student, as your first step before you see a counselor. Held twice weekly in Plover Hall, this orientation provides you with vital information on a variety of important topics including admission and registration, financial aid and scholarship, career exploration, and English and math assessment. You will be provided details on earning an A.A. degree, the transfer process, and the completion of a career certificate. These supportive, small group sessions help ensure you a successful entry into the academic arena and, eventually, completion of your educational goals.

Drop-in orientations offered throughout the year:

Wednesdays at either 10:00 AM or 5:30 PM

Academic, Career & Personal Counseling

It is important to stay in touch with a counselor while pursuing your educational goal. By doing so, you can be assured of a less stressful entry process and a more successful completion of your educational goals.

Counseling is available in Bailey Hall on the Santa Rosa Campus and in the Richard W. Call Building on the Petaluma Campus. Our counselors provide semester-by-semester assistance in your class selection and help with career clarification. You can make an appointment with one of our counselors by calling (707) 527-4451 (Santa Rosa) or (707) 778-3914 (Petaluma).
