Location

The city of Santa Rosa is located in Northern California, about an hour north of San Francisco. Santa Rosa has a relaxed urban appeal, offering cultural arts, museums, food and wine, shopping and outdoor activities. Our city’s population of approximately 153,000 people is situated in one of the most beautiful regions in the state characterized by rolling hills and agricultural land. Sonoma County is a major wine-producing area, with exquisite vineyards throughout the county and over 400 acres of public parks perfect for hiking, sailing, and horseback riding. Sonoma County’s dramatic and breathtaking coastline stretches for 58-miles along the Pacific Ocean. The county is only a few hours away from the popular ski resorts of Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park, and the well-known coastal area of Monterey Bay. The region is fortunate to have a moderate climate year-round with average summer temperatures ranging from 50-85 degrees, and winter temperatures from 35-60 degrees. Average rainfall is about 30 inches per year.
