Housing Information for International Students

Santa Rosa Junior College does not have a dormitory, but offers assistance to students needing housing. Our Student Affairs Office maintains an online listing of apartments and share rental options, as well as helpful information on renting in the Santa Rosa area. You can view this information at: http://www.santarosa.edu/for_students/student_resources/och/.

Apartments and houses for rent are listed in our local newspaper, the Press Democrat. You can view these listings online at their website at: http://www1.pressdemocrat.com/apps/pbcs.dll/classifieds?Category=classifieds&class=04&groupsearch=G0407.

Some special considerations for International students:

  • Before beginning your search for housing you should plan on opening a checking or savings account with a local bank.
  • Most landlords want to be assured of your ability to pay your rent every month. They may require you to have sufficient funds on deposit, or require a US citizen to be a co-signer (responsible party) on your rental agreement.
