Academic Program – The International Student Academic Program is designed for students who are prepared to take college level courses. SRJC offers a wide variety of majors and courses, many of which transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Many students earn a two-year associate degree and return to their home country to work or to pursue university studies, while others complete the associate degree and/or the first two years of U.S. university bachelor degree requirements before transferring to university. New students must take an English assessment test upon arrival to determine appropriate course level placement. ESL courses may be recommended or required before gaining eligibility for college level courses.

English Language Studies Program – This English Language Studies Program (ELSP) is for F-1 international students who do not meet the English proficiency requirement to be admitted to an academic program. With over 30 years of experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), SRJC provides challenging and interesting classes designed to prepare you for success in college level courses. Whether you are a beginner or only need to brush up on your English skills, SRJC offers instruction, taught by highly qualified ESL faculty, which will match your current level. TOEFL/IELTS scores are not required for admission.
