SMART START Learning Communities If you have placed in a 300-level Math or English class, consider enrolling in one of SRJC’s SMART START Learning Communities, which link a Counseling class with either an English or math class. Learning Communities are limited to 25-30 students, so instructors can offer extensive small group and individualized instruction. In addition, the SMART START Learning Communities include a lab component, so you can practice and refine your skills in a risk-free and supportive environment. The Learning Communities also help you establish a strong academic foundation that supports your success in all your college classes.
