First Year Experience Learning Communities (FYE)
If you have placed in English 100, consider enrolling in one of SRJC’s First year Experience Learning Communities, which link English 100 with Counseling 10 in the fall semester and English 1A with Counseling 11 in the spring semester. English 100 and English 1A enables each student to develop and refine college reading and writing skills to successfully read and write in all college-level classes. Counseling 10 and 11 will help you acclimate to SRJC and develop an academic plan, as you also make new friends and explore the rich variety of opportunities offered at the College. The First Year Learning Communities also give you an opportunity to create and complete a service learning project, engage in personal leadership activities to identify goals, and explore connections between academic majors and career choices.
