Santa Rosa Junior College PARAMEDIC TRAINING
BUTTE COLLEGE
The Butte College Paramedic Program is designed to prepare the student to become a Certified Paramedic in the State of California. It exceeds the California requirements and is approved by Nor Cal EMS. Certification examinations may be taken upon completion of the one school year program.
It is recommended that students have experience as an Emergency Medical Technician, a medical corpsman, or have a background in other emergency medical services.

The program prerequisites are:
Completion of the academic prerequisites allows a student to be considered for admission to the program. A list of qualified applicants will be established by computer lottery. After 20 individuals have been enrolled and registered for the class, qualified applicants will be placed either as alternates or admitted into subsequent classes.
Applicants who have completed, or will complete, the appropriate prerequisites may be required to take a test in the areas of Anatomy, English and Mathematics. Also an oral interview may be required.

STANFORD-FOOTHILL PREHOSPITAL CARE PROGRAM
The Stanford-Foothill Prehospital Care Program is an educational program and not a certification program for the individual. The total program includes more than 1000 hours (about 6 months full-time or 12 months part-time) and prepares the student for entrance into his/her county certification process.
The program is conducted in association with Foothill College. Individuals accepted into the program will enroll in the college on the first day of class.
