The Counseling Department will be closed Monday, May 27th through Friday, May 31. No counseling services will be available. We will reopen on Monday, June 3, 2013.
Due to staffing levels and until further notice, appointments
are no longer available. Counselors are available daily to see students on a drop-in
basis only, first come, first served. We encourage students to plan early each semester
in order to avoid longer waits encountered during priority registration.
The mission of the Counseling Department at Santa Rosa Junior
College is to provide counseling, instruction, and services which assist individuals
in attaining their educational, occupational, and personal/life goals.
The Counseling
Department promotes and supports diversity of culture and learning and, as an integral
part of the educational community, seeks to enhance the lives of those who participate
in our programs and enroll in our courses.
As a new student, seeing a counselor is probably the
most important thing you can do. Our counselors can help you find the
right level of classes and assist you in designing an educational plan
to help you meet your educational goal. Counselors can also direct you
to SRJC's many supportive services such as the Transfer Center, Career
Center, and Disability Resources.
The final responsibility for successfully achieving
an educational goal rests with the student. Information on-line is designed to be
helpful; however, this information changes frequently. It is recommended that students
consult catalogs, counselors, departments and universities to confirm an educational
plan.
In addition to the Santa Rosa and Petaluma locations,
students can access counselors through other SRJC programs:
CalWORKs
Career Center
College
Skills
DRD (Disability Resources
Department)
EOPS (Extended
Opportunity Programs & Services)
Learning Communities
Puente
Transfer Center
