Objective

1.1 A master plan will be developed that clearly articulates the mission, overall goals, and planning priorities for the next five years that will facilitate student success and support the educational programs of the college. The Vice President of Student Services will lead a broad-based task force of managers, faculty, staff and student leaders through a planning process that will respond to the results of Program Review, the Institutional Planning agenda, component operational goals and emergent student needs. The master plan will identify specific facility, programmatic, technological, human resource, and budgetary implications.

1.1.1 Identify participants and the lead responsibility of the Student Services Master Plan Task Force in conjunction with the District Master Educational Plan.

1.1.2 Review relevant college planning initiatives and planning documents from other institutions.

1.1.3 Assess reports from Accreditation Self-study, Student Services Program Review, Petaluma Center "services" evaluation and other evaluative/forecasting measures.

1.1.4 Prepare first draft of Student Services Master Plan.

1.1.5 Present draft of Student Services master plan to President, VPs constituent groups and I.P.C.

2.1 Through coordinated outreach plans within the Student Services component, and in collaboration with Academic Affairs and Public Relations, specific activities will be implemented at School sites and community locations that enhance student access to SRJC.

Evaluate the organizational structure of Student Services and recommend modifications that improve internal communication, accountability for student development and success and cost effective resource distribution.

3.1 Under the direct leadership of the Vice-President, an ad-hoc task force involving staff and Student Services managers will conduct a formal assessment of the current organizational structure. The results of Program Review, Master Planning, and changes in other district component structures will be incorporated in the process. Cost implications, direct benefit to students, and alignment with institutional goals will be clearly identified.
