Topic Summary

To reduce the cost of unnecessary long distance calls, our telephone system allows each phone to be assigned needed area codes that may be accessed. If you find you need to call outside the area codes that are assigned to your phone, please place those calls through your Department Chair or Supervisors Phone. The Switchboard is no longer responsible for making long distance calls for staff or faculty.

Steps required to increase Calling Range

  1. Contact your Supervisor to get approval to increase your phones calling range.
  2. If approved Supervisor will need to open a service ticket online with the person’s name and extension number that needs modification. Use the online ticket request: http://www.santarosa.edu/it/support/request or you may contact the Help Desk at (707) 524-1765
  3. When change has been completed an email will be sent to Supervisor and Staff/Faculty member that the Calling Range on their phone has been modified.

Note: The above steps are to be followed also for “Decreasing” a phones calling range.
