Note the following when changing your E-mail / domain password:

  1. You are required to change your password every 6 months. If you have changed your password within the 6 month time frame, the 6 month timer is reset.
  2. Password must be at least six characters in length.
  3. Password must include at least one uppercase letter, at least one lowercase letter, and at least one number or symbol.
  4. Password must be significantly different than passwords you have used before.
  5. Password must NOT be any part of your name or username.
  6. You will only be allowed to change your password one (1) time during a 24-hour period.
  7. If you experience any problems while changing your password, call the IT Help Desk at (707) 524-1765.

Password Messages on SRJC Supported Computers


  1. If your password is about to expire on Windows 7, you may receive the following message in your system tray at the bottom right side of your screen:

  2. If you are on a PC, hit CTRL+ALT+DEL, click "Change Password" and then enter your Old Password, New Password, and verify the New Password. Click the right arrow.
