Topic Summary

From Any SRJC Campus Phone

  1. If calling from your own extension, dial 4999 when the system answers (Hello mailbox xxxx or Hello and recorded name) just enter your passcode, you no longer need to press the star key in this instance.
  2. If you are calling from a phone other than your own, dial 4999, when the system answers you may hear “Hello Mailbox xxxx or Hello and that persons recorded name, press the * key, mailbox number , star key and pass code or you may hear “ Welcome to the message center” you then enter your mailbox number followed by the * key and your pass code.

From Any Off Campus Phone

NOTE: Once you have logged into your mailbox you can pick up messages, give messages, make messages, change your greeting, etc.

Message Waiting Lamp

If there is a message-waiting lamp on your phone, the lamp will flash when you have new voicemail messages. If your lamp has not lit up in the past 24 hours:

  1. Your light may need to be tested (Call Davida Brookfield at ext. 4415)
  2. You did not have any new messages

Please call ext. 4415 and Davida Brookfield can assist you if your message light is not working or if you need a phone with a message lamp on it.

Call Forwarding to Voice Mail or Other Extensions

  1. To Forward your phone “always” to either 4999 or any extension pick up handset, dial #40 and number (example #40 4999 or #40 xxxx) You should now hear dial tone. This forwarding feature will send all calls directly to voicemail or another extension
  2. To Forward your phone on a Five Ring No Answer basis, pick up handset dial #42 4999 (you should hear dial tone now)
  3. To Forward your phone on a Busy Basis, pick up handset dial #41 4999( you should now hear dial tone) To Cancel call forwarding dial #48
