Topic Summary

Starting in January of 2013, IT will complete the transition from an old Citrix server to a new Citrix server. Most people will not notice any changes, however if you have an older Citrix client on your computer, Internet Explorer may crash when you try and load Citrix on the new server. Follow these instructions how to first uninstall the old Citrix client before installing the new Citrix client.

These instructions are using Windows 7.


  1. Click on the Start Menu, then click on Control Panel.

  2. Under Programs, click "Uninstall a program"

    Under Programs, click "Uninstall a program"

  3. Select the "Citrix XenApp Web Plugin" or similar name. Then click the "Uninstall" button on the top bar. Click "Yes" to confirm.

    Select the "Citrix XenApp Web Plugin" or similar name. Then click the "Uninstall" button on the top bar. Click "Yes" to confirm.

  6. When finished, if there are any other Citrix clients in the "Uninstall or change a program" list, you should follow these same instructions to uninstall those as well.
