Systems Maintenance (I.T.) - Weds night 1/11/2012

SRJC Community,

The Information Technology department will be performing routine systems maintenance on Wednesday, January 11th starting at 7pm. Throughout the evening there will be brief interruptions, typically lasting no more than 5-10 minutes. See the following list for specific systems that will be briefly interrupted. Due to some of the complex interdependencies of the systems that serve our college, please note that additional systems may also be impacted that are not included in the listing below.

  • Network/Domain Services – Login, Authentication, DHCP (Santa Rosa, Petaluma & Windsor)
  • Network Shared Drives – Departmental Shares & Home Directories (S: drive, X: drive, etc)

Student and Faculty Portal is down (updated)

The Student and Faculty Portal is currently offline. IT is aware of the issue and is in the process of resolving it. We will provide an update when the portal is back online or when we have an ETA.

UPDATE 9:00 AM - The Portal is back up and functioning normally.

 

IT Closed for Winter Break

A quick reminder to all SRJC employees, IT will be closed during the winter break and we will return January 4th. During this time, we will not be answering the Help Desk or returning calls. If you have an IT related emergency, please call the Help Desk at (707) 524-1765 for current emergency contact information. Have a safe and wonderful winter break!

ITG Bond Computer Request Approval List

SRJC Community,

The Institutional Technology Group (ITG) has finished prioritizing requests for the next bond measure A fund computer purchase. Follow the link below to see the status of these requests. Since approved computers will still need to be ordered, processed, inventoried, and imaged, it will still be up to several months before the computers will be available for installation.

Update on SIS/Important Announcements

PLEASE SHARE THIS EMAIL WITH ANY COWORKERS WHO ARE NOT ON EMAIL

Hello Everyone,
The Systems and Programming Team has completed their maintenance window for the SIS this morning, with the following important notices being issued:

IF YOU PROCESS CREDIT CARDS via the SIS – On FRIDAY 10/21 ONLY, you will need to launch the SIS via Citrix ( Visit http://www.santarosa.edu/it and click on Citrix under Technology Portals on the Left-Side Menu), and NOT use the SIS Desktop Icon. Credit Card Processing will return to normal on Monday morning 10/24. If you need help using Citrix, or experience problems please call the help desk at x1765. Again, everything should return to normal on Monday morning 10/24, and you will be able to use the SIS Desktop Icon to process Credit Cards on Monday morning.

IF YOU DO NOT PROCESS CREDIT CARDS – The SIS has returned to normal operation. If you are having problems, please reboot, login and try again. If you still have problems, please contact the help desk at x1765.

SIS/Student Information System Problem

Good Morning Everyone,

We are aware of a problem in which selected screens (for example the Students and Student Lookup screens) within the Student Information System (SIS) are not loading. The Systems and Programming Team is working on a solution to this problem. Thank you for your patience.

We will send another email when the problem is resolved or by 9:30am with an update.

UPDATE (9:09AM) - We’ve been notified that the problem has been resolved. You may need to shut down and reboot, login and then launch the SIS again if you are still running into problems.

Calls to Petaluma Campus

We are currently experiencing some phone call connection issues between the Santa Rosa Campus and Petaluma Campus. Our phone vendor Technician is on route to fix issue. We will update the IT Blog when the issue has been fixed.
