Server Maintenance, Feb 5 - 6:00 to 11:00 PM

The Information Technology department will be performing routine systems maintenance and upgrades on a number of our servers. Throughout the evening there will be brief interruptions to services, typically lasting less than 20 minutes.

SIS will be off-line at 9:00 PM for a needed special updates and will be off-line for the evening.

When:

Thursday, February 5, 2014 - 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Where:

District Wide

Who is Impacted:

All individuals who utilize the affected services, on-campus or remote, during the maintenance window, will be affected.

Networks are not affected, so access to the internet will be available at all times.  Most evening classes will not be affected.

What you need to do:

If you plan to utilize any of the affected servers during the scheduled maintenance window please make new arrangements.  Otherwise no action is required on your part.

Details:

Server maintenance is an essential part of the assuring that our IT infrastructure, programs, and services work properly.  Although it can result in a brief period of inconvenience it helps provide a reliable computing environment.  We also work to pick times and dates to minimize the impact to users.

  • Student Information System (SIS) – Special Upgrade
  • CATE & Moodle - Possible delays/outages in enrolling in online orientation, synchronizing passwords, requesting/receiving Distance Education accounts for faculty, updating CATE and Moodle rosters, and other tasks involving integration of CATE and Moodle with IT systems.

SIS server maintenance and upgrade

SIS, Portals, registration, online payment of fees, schedule of classes, and faculty grade submission will be unavailable, on December 22nd  from 5:00 to 8:00PM.

When:

Monday, Dec. 22 from 5:00PM to  8:00PM

Where:

Portals, Schedule of Classes, SIS, Faculty Grade Submission, Registration, & Online Payment of Fees

Who is Impacted:

All individuals who utilize the affected services, on-campus or remote will be affected.

What you need to do:

If you are expecting to utilize any of the affected services during the maintenance window, please make plans to accommodate.   No other action is required on your part.

Details:

This is being done to upgrade the operating system of a critical server and improve the performance of the SIS Database.  This is essential work required to maintain the security, reliability and performance of the programs that serve the District.  We regret any inconvenience this may cause to students, faculty and staff.  This date and time was chosen minimize the impact to everyone.

Application downtime for Database Upgrade

The Information Technology department will be performing systems maintenance on our SIS Database server, which must be done before fall semester starts. On Friday, August 1, from 12:01 a.m. to 11:50 p.m., all services provided by the SIS Database server will be unavailable. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We will post status updates on the IT web site to keep everyone informed.

When: Friday, Aug.1, 12:01 AM to 11:50 PM

Notice: After Hours Internet Service Maintenance - 3/13/14 12am-6am

The IT Department has been notified of a maintenance window in which the vendor that provides our internet connection will be performing maintenance on their equipment which may cause the SRJC sites listed below to lose telephone and/or Internet connectivity during the maintenance window.

Thursday, March 13, 2014
Connection between Santa Rosa & Petaluma Campuses
12:00am-6:00am


Comcast (Internet/Network connection vendor) will be performing scheduled maintenance that is expected to interrupt network connectivity between the Santa Rosa and Petaluma campuses.  SRJC maintains a backup link for this connection and we expect that once the maintenance begins, our connection will fail-over to the backup link.  Although the backup link provides a slower connection, due to the time of day (12 midnight) we do not expect any impact on college operations.

Please distribute this notice to any staff expected to be working during these early-morning maintenance windows, to ensure they are notified of the potential service interruptions.

Additional IT Systems Maintenance - Friday, August 16, 2013

The Information Technology department will be performing additional systems maintenance tomorrow, Friday, August 16, 2013. There are two maintenance windows:

Interruptions between 7:30AM and 8:00AM:

  • Web Services – The College’s main website (www.santarosa.edu) will be unavailable.

Please NOTE: myCubby/Portals/Online Learning (CATE/Moodle) WILL be available. You will have to use the following DIRECT links:

Interruptions between 4:45PM and 5:00PM:

  • The Santa Rosa Campus Phone System will be undergoing maintenance.

We are continuing the process of upgrading of our phone system. SRJC phone technicians will be working with our carrier partners (Integra, Inc. & AT&T, Inc.) to disconnect an old and abandoned circuit on: Friday, August 16th at 4:45 PM to 5:00 PM. The operation is expected to last about 15 minutes. Our Santa Rosa Campus users will experience outages from/to the outside world during that time. Intra/inter campus calls (4 digit dialing) and emergency systems hooked into our analog lines will perform as expected.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but these maintenance tasks cannot be performed during our regular evening maintenance window.
