Addendum to Server Update Night Notice

As part of this week’s sever update/reboot night scheduled for tomorrow evening (reference the notice that was sent on Monday) we will be upgrading the Microsoft Office suite of programs available for use on the Citrix Server (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Visio, Word) to the newest version – Microsoft Office 2013.

This software upgrade is required to stay current with new technology in support of our trial/testing of the Outlook 365 cloud email system.

We do not anticipate any problems, although there will be a point in the upgrade process tomorrow night where Microsoft Office programs will be unavailable via Citrix while the old version of Office is uninstalled and the new version is installed.

Citrix - Old server will be powered off on March 1st, 2013

Hello SRJC Community,

This is a reminder of a notice that was originally sent last November. The old, ailing Citrix server will be powered off on March 1st, 2013.

If you have not yet switched from using the old Citrix server, please switch over ASAP. See this blog post for support resources to help with the transition.

If you need further help or have questions regarding Citrix or the old server being shutdown, please reply or give us a call at 707-524-1765.

PRPP Users: Important Notice about Citrix Access

We want to inform all employees beginning work on their PRPP that they should be connecting through the new Citrix server at: https://citrix.santarosa.edu

In an effort to provide a better experience, the IT department has deployed a new Citrix Server in replacement of the currently ailing server. To start using the new server, please go to the IT web site at http://www.santarosa.edu/it and click on Citrix OR just click on the following link: https://citrix.santarosa.edu/

Please, remember to update your shortcuts and favorites. The old Citrix server is not being supported any longer and will be shut down permanently on March 1st, 2013.

Introducing the new Citrix Server

In an effort to provide a better experience to our Remote Users, the IT department has deployed a new Citrix Server in replacement of the currently ailing server. We have successfully tested the new server and we have confidence in its reliability.

To start using the new server, please go to the IT pages at http://www.santarosa.edu/it and click on Citrix on the left menu OR just click on the following link: https://citrix.santarosa.edu/. The old Citrix server link is still available (via the Citrix (Old) link on the left menu) The old Citrix server will be discontinued March 1, 2013.

Because of budget constraints, the IT department will discontinue off-hours support for the Old Citrix Server, which is scheduled to go offline on March 1st, 2013. Please let us know how we can best server you!

Citrix Access Issues

Update: 8:20 AM - Citrix resources are now available.

Access to Citrix resources are not available this morning. IT is aware of the issue and will update the blog when we know more.
