Santa Rosa Junior College - College Wide Information System

These are a few questions we receive concerning our services. Please don't hesitate to email, call, or come into GPS with any other questions you may have.

I am considering several vocational training programs. Can I get information on these programs from Student Employment?

We can provide you with general labor market information, current hiring activity in Sonoma County, and expected entry level salary ranges for many of SRJC's vocational certificate programs.

The SRJC Career Center is also a good resource to access labor market information.

I am looking for an internship. Can you help?

SRJC offers an Intern Program through the Work Experience Department. To find out more, go to the Work Experience website.
I'm not quite ready for full time work. It will be another one or two semesters before I graduate. What services are available for me?

There are several options available for students who are not yet able to seek full time work:

The Student Employment Office maintains job listings for both on and off campus opportunities for students who are attending school and seeking part time employment. This service is accessed on a self-referral basis by visiting the Student Employment Office and reviewing the job leads. Students are expected to contact employers and to follow through with these leads on their own.

Students who are nearing completion of their training may also wish to consider participating in an internship. An internship is an excellent way to make the transition from college to career by giving you experience in a work setting that can add to the credentials on your resume.

When should I begin my job search?

If you are one semester away from graduation, it is not too early to begin laying the groundwork for your job search. You may wish to schedule a visit with the Career Developer for assistance with writing a resume and to discuss your interests and career goals.
