SRJC-Day Under the Oaks

day under the oaks activities

SRJC Departments and Clubs Participation

Day Under The Oaks was a tradition for the district and for its community from 1978 through 2008. Sadly, it was cancelled in 2009 due to the swine flu scare and was not re-established until now.

Day Under the Oaks - Your College’s Open House will return May 5, 2013.
It is a unique opportunity to present to the community the wide range of resources that Santa Rosa Junior College offers.

Participation by all instructional departments, student services and student clubs will make this a true open house.

Participation can be as simple as staffing an information table with students and alumni, or as elaboratively interactive as you can imagine. We encourage:

  • Activities that encourage involvement of our attendees.
  • Shows that educate or demonstrate skills or processes.
  • Special activities for youngsters that can educate and inspire them to consider college in their future.
  • Mini-workshops or How-To demonstrations

To participate, SRJC instructional departments or clubs should click here to fill out the online participation form - one form per activity or booth. The deadline for completing forms in Thursday, February 14, 2013.

Be sure to include:

  • A clear description of what you are doing, so that we can market it to the public.
  • Pricing, if you are selling anything.
  • Timing of any demonstrations or shows, so that we can include it in the published schedule of events.
  • A list of your space and equipment needs - which will be fulfilled on a first come, first served, basis.

Please also be sure to read the DUO Policies here.
